TMBCI Received $54.7 Million in COVID-19 Relief Funds
The U.S. Treasury Department made CARES Acts payments to qualified Tribal governments based on housing, employment and other data.
What makes an expense allowable under the CARES Acts law?
The expense is necessary to keep TMBCI and its tribal members safe.
The expense is not filling a shortfall in the tribe’s revenues.
The expense is not funded by another budget line item, allotment, or allocation of other grant money as of March 27, 2020.
The expense or project can be completed by 12/30/2020.
The expense would not exist without COVID-19 or would be for a “substantially different purpose.”
TMBCI COMMITTED TO COMPLIANCE WITH CARES ACT LAW
Tribe has worked diligently to fully understand and follow the rules established by the CARES Act law. As a result, our spend plan for the CARES Act fund has received approval from the federal oversight agency, without any red flags.
